There are syntonic commas in the bass at 34 seconds and at 2 minutes 56 seconds, which I had not noticed listening to the sound file alone.

It shocked me how bad this piece sounded to me when I first heard it on Dutch radio in March 2019. After I had looked up the organ's tuning - an unspecified Neidhardt variant - I wondered whether that would be the cause. Later that week I listened again on http://allofbach.com/nl/bwv/bwv-547. And again and after a few times I started to appreciate the music, rather than being disturbed by a tuning that had been foreign to my ears.
This experience sparked my endeavor to upload versions of the music on this website in various 12 tone unequal temperaments.
